Police arrest four suspects for gruesome m8rder of 45-year-old man over witchcraft allegation in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four suspects for the gruesome m8rder of a 45-year-old man over witchcraft allegation. The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib disclosed this in a statement 23rd September, 2026. According to the PPRO, the victim, Garba Abdullahi, was brutally attacked by four persons who accused him of being responsible for the illness of one Sawaida Dahiru. Abdullahi was rushed to a hospital for immediate medical attention, where he was later confirmed d3ad by a medical doctor. "On 22nd September, 2026 at about 1235hrs, a 35 years old man of Dunari village via Atahowa District reported at Gadau Division that on the same date at about 1140hrs, his elder brother, one Garba Abdullahi, 45 years old, was brutally attacked on his way home from farm by four persons who accused him of being responsible for the illness of one Sawaida Dahiru 'F, the statement read. "The suspects, identified as Shitu Dahiru  25 years old, Magaji Dahiru 42 years old, Sabi'u Auwalu 20 years old, and Abbah Abdulzahar 19 years old, all males and of the same address, allegedly st@bbed and macheted the victim on various parts of his body, leaving him unconscious. "Upon receipt of the report, Police operatives rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to General Hospital Azare for immediate medical attention, where he was later confirmed d3ad by a medical doctor.  The corpse was released to relatives for burial.
