“Please help us, this is my dad’s sweat” — Lady cries for help as erosion destroys her father’s house (video)

  A lady has appealed to the Imo State Government, individuals, and relevant authorities for urgent assistance after erosion threatened to destroy her fathers house. The woman made the appeal in a viral video while showing the extent of the erosion damage around the family property. Im calling on the government of Imo State. Im calling on everybody, anyone that can help at this point in time because I dont know what to do. This is my dads sweat, not just my dads sweat, my entire familys sweat that is going down the drain like this that is caused by this natural disaster. According to her, the house represents years of financial sacrifices by her father and the entire family, who contributed whatever they could afford toward its construction. She identified the issue as river erosion and explained that the family spent years building the structure due to financial hardship. They called it river erosion. This is a house weve been building for so long. It was not supposed to take this long but because of a lot of problems, we were just putting two and two together, 100,000, 50,000, 20,000 anyhow. Then after building this house, erosion wants to take it away from us. The woman said the family contacted an engineer, who assessed the situation and informed them that the problem could be remediated, though the intervention would require significant funds. Weve called the engineer and theyve made estimates of how much its going to take because they said this is actually possible to fix this problem but it will cost a lot of money. The amount is 10.5 million to change the direction of the river. Appealing for help, she stated that her father had become overwhelmed by the situation and expressed fear that the family could lose its home if immediate steps were not taken. She also called on social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) and other prominent figures to intervene. At this point, Im calling on everybody. Im calling on VDM too, anybody that can help, please. At this point, my dad is even exhausted. He just said anything that wants to happen, let it happen. But how is this natural disaster going to render us homeless? If this house is taken away from us, we dont have anywhere to stay.
