Teacher arrested for allegedly having s3x with pupil

A teacher has been arrested in Machinga, Malawi after he allegedly had s3xual intercourse with a 16-year-old Standard 8 pupil. Machinga Police Station public relations officer Sergeant Western Kansire confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. According to him, the alleged incidents occurred between August and September 2026 at Ngokwe Trading Centre. Kansire said the girl was left home alone after her parents travelled to Nsanje for a holiday. Police allege that the suspect, who is the girls neighbour, took advantage of the situation and had s3xual intercourse with her on several occasions. When her parents returned to Nayuchi, the girl reportedly disclosed what had happened, prompting them to report the matter to police. She was referred to Nayuchi Health Centre for medical examination, where police said the examination confirmed that she had been s3xually assaulted and was approximately two weeks pregnant. Following investigations by detectives from Nselema Police Post, the suspect, identified as Patrick Chitsulo, was arrested and charged with having s3xual intercourse with a child, contrary to Section 138 of the Penal Code. He is expected to appear before court once investigations are completed. Chitsulo hails from Mulipa Village, Traditional Authority Nsanama, in Machinga District. The post Teacher arrested for allegedly having s3x with pupil appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
